Sparkling Winter Canvas with Fab Foils

Hi and welcome to the WOW! blog today!

My name is Birgit Koopsen and this is my first post as a DT-member for WOW! UK. The previous year I was on the US team where I had a wonderful time and I'm sure that will continue here! I hope I will be able to inspire you to use WOW! products in your mixed media projects and layouts and show you why they are so wonderful to work with!

Today I want to share with you a canvas that I sparkled up with hologram embossing powder and Fab Foils to create a frosty, wintery look.

I first create the canvas by layering tags, doilies, tissue paper, lace ribbon and chipboard letters and then covered the whole with gesso. Then I added more layers using modeling paste and stencils, added some buttons and sprayed the project with a variety of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist colours, This is how it looked when I finished all that:

When everything was completely dry (!) I put some of the stencils back on top in the right place and filled in the open spaces with V…

Hello Winter!

Hello. my dear crafty friends! My name is Irit  and this is my very first post here, also for a year I was on Wow Embossing Powders USA team, so I am not new to those gorgeous WOW! products at all.
This month is a month of Ice and Snow  in our blog. Ice and snow for Israeli girl? We hardly see snow once in a lifetime. But as I design  only for out of Israel companies, I do have great winter products to design with and today I am going to show you  my "Hello, Winter" wall deco full of Wow! Embossing Powders stamps and powders.

The basic part of this deco is this 30*30 cm (12*12'') chipboard piece from Australian A2Z Scraplets company. It was a long way to make this board to look like it is now: each part of it was covered with Versamark embossing  ink and heat embossed with a lot of WOW powders.
I usedMetallic  Silver Sparkle , Azure, Pastel Blue and Neutral Ultra Shimmerin a mix and most of them were double or triple embossed.
Then I made this  inner stamped circle…

Winter Wonderland

This is my first posting for WOW Global and I am so excited to be here!!!
Here in New Zealand it is mid summer, kids are playing on water slides, day trips to beaches,  local parks and enjoying ice cream.  All my photos on my camera are of sunny warm days.  I had this fabulous idea of getting a great photo of all the kids (6)  lined  up eating ice cream but it just did not happen.  So I found myself a bit stuck with this months challenge!  ICE AND SNOW! So I had to put my thinking cap on.  I was at our local garden center the other day getting some lettuce seedlings for the kids to plant when I stumbled across this CUTE bird. I knew I had to take him home! He sat on my table for a while and then it hit me.  I could do a winter theme canvas. I have not played with canvas a lot so I was a bit worried that it would not work. I love what I achieved and will be doing more!
I have started with a wee canvas turned round so I could use the back which created a framed working surface.  I …

A cheerful little chap...

I have decided that this year I will start my Christmas cards now to avoid the madness that I know happens every year....
I demo Christmas cards from June, so by the time I get around to making my own cards I run out of steam....
This year I plan to make at least a couple every month - that's very do-able and at the end of it I will have at least a few to start me off...
So that is why I made this card....
One the must have products of this year are these papers...
The resist papers are STUNNING!!!! I love them and can think of a million and one things to do with them!
They are brilliant when you want the embossed look but have run out of time or you need a quick card on the go.....
I will always have some of these in my stash.......
Did I say just how much I adore these!!! lol

This is the finish card...

And here are a few close ups for you.....
I've added extra sparkle by using an embossing pen and some neutral ultra shimmer powders....
The shine on my embellishments comes…

Let it snow, let is snow, let it snow!

Hello to you all,

It's Sarah here and I thought I would share with you a couple of cards that I made and sent out to family and friends at Christmas...

On this card, I wanted the snowflake to be suspended so it would hang and create movement.
I started by creating the card background that the snowflake would hang in front of. I used a square card and measured 3 cm from each edge of the front of the card and then cut this square section out.

I then typed different Christmas sentiments and selected different sentiments to be in different fonts. I selected the font colour to be grey (30% black) and then printed this onto transparency paper. I printed a complete A4 page so that I could make two cards from the one sheet of transparency paper. I cut two squares 12 cm x 12 cm from this printed transparency and then mounted one square onto the middle of the card using 3mm foam squares.

The foam squares used to mount the transparency were slightly visible through the transparent paper whic…

"Jolly Holiday" Card - Snow and Ice theme

Hi again - Chris here again.  This "Hope that you have a Jolly Holiday" card was made using a plain image which I added WoW Embossing Powders to creating the look of a sparkly snow scene.  This card would be suitable for anyone going on a winter or ski-ing holiday.

To create the sparkly snow use the WoW Embossing Pen to draw along the roof tops exactly where you want the snow. Then sprinkle on Silver Hologram Sparkle powders  and heat with a WoW heat gun.

I also stamped a "with love" sentiment using the Everyday Sentiments Stamp Set and embossed with Lagoon Blue powders taken from the Primary Range.

The snow at the base of the card was achieved by cutting out two layers of white cardstock, one larger than the other, shaped at the top to look like drifting snow. I then embossed the top of each piece of card with Earthtone Blueberry powders and then dragged my Versamark Embossing pad over the cardstock  and added Silver Hologram Sparkle powder.

The brads were also …

- 3 Ideas for your Dinner Table -

Hi Christine here again with this month's theme - Snow and Ice -

For the Snow and Ice theme I decided to  "think outside the box" a little and came up with some techniques this time just to be a bit different.

I created a little table setting name plate using the Chandelier stamp from the Vintage set to create a  snowflake.
An embossed candle using the lovely Bahama Blue powders from the Caribbean set  and a wire candle charm with embossed paper icicle beads using the St Lucia Surf powder and Collage stamp.

To make the table name plate I stamped the Chandelier stamp 8 different ways, first facing north, then south, east then west then filled in the gaps - this created a snowflake image which I then mounted onto my card all ready to write on the name.

To make the embossed image on a candle I embossed a snowflake image onto tissue paper using the Bahama Blue powders. I then wrapped the tissue round the candle covering it with baking parchment paper then heated it with a he…

Wooden Icicle

Hi Everyone Sue Here

This months theme of Ice and Snow for WOW made me go back to a peg snowflake I made, earlier in the month and loved it so much I'm making another one with WOW embossing powders and Flock.

I purchased mine from Sainsbury's and at present it is buy a pack of 24 for £1.05 get another pack free!.  The snowflake takes 8 pegs so 3 from each pack.

Firstly you need to separate the pegs from the metal clip.

Next put the pegs together flat side, and glue with cosmic shimmer acrylic glue or a hot glue gun.  This makes 1 branch of snowflake.  Glue 4 branches together for the inner snowflake, then put a further 4 branches in between the others and leave to dry overnight.

Take some white acrylic paint and paint this on the snowflake.  It doesn't matter if you miss anywhere if you are going for the grunge effect.

I then pressed versamark into it and sprinkled holographic and blue blast embossing powder onto it and heat set.  Then put versamark on again in placed fol…
